Can we accelerate the transformation of society by accelerating our own change? - Urs Riggenbach

Show notes

In the third episode, Urs Riggenbach shares about the change dynamics and whether we are ready or not for climate change, developing an interesting and deep perspective based on his decade of work serving Solar Fire with the purpose of developing an energy tool that is truly empowering people.

Urs engaged at a quite young age in the Solar Fire project. His journey started in 2010 when he was searching for a decentralized project that can be a game changer to mitigate climate change side effects. At that time, he thought that Lytefire tech was one of the best approaches to tackle climate change and... he still does.

Going from low interest in entrepreneurship to raising investments, he had to adapt a lot to a wide range of challenges, tasks and projects. During his entire journey, one of his core strengths has been keeping an open mind to learn, learn, learn and be always happy to help with anything. He has been able to learn a lot from his own mistakes and assess the importance of vulnerability. As he says, “the growth of an organization literally is the growth of the individuals within the organization.”

Trained at the College of the Atlantic, he took Solar Fire to Nepal, the US, France, Finland and to Switzerland where he lives. Recently named CEO, before that Urs has been Chief Information Officer and Chief Operating Officer. He is very inspired by conscious leadership principles and encourages gender equality in the team.

This podcast series gives you the chance to get to know the Solar Fire team, our motivation and dreams. It's the journey of a group of six very motivated people who decided to really do something about climate change. The Lytefire solar tech we promote is a unique piece of the energy mix to decentralize energy, decarbonize the economy and fight deforestation while empowering people.

Lytefire is currently spread to vulnerable populations through cooperation with NGOs and educational programs. In Europe, entrepreneurs have started to adopt it to power their small businesses.
